Translating Data into Policy: Mapping Challenges, Crafting Solutions

In collaboration with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.

How do we turn data into decisions - and decisions into real-world impact? This hands-on workshop brings the Data to Policy Navigator to life through collaborative, real-time exercises. Participants will break down real-world challenges -like labour market shortages or climate resilience- using the Navigator’s first two steps: problem definition and data ecosystem mapping. Working in groups, they’ll explore innovative data sources, such as citizen-generated insights, and learn how to identify data gaps, build smarter questions, and move toward evidence-based solutions.

Designed for public sector innovators and data practitioners, this session showcases creative bureaucracy in action - where data becomes a tool for inclusive, agile governance.

This workshop takes place at Forum Rethinking Governance.
