Young Bureaucrats Forum 2026
The Young Bureaucrats Forum brings together young people who are passionate about public administration, ready to take responsibility and eager to actively shape the public sector.
It is about more than just exchanging ideas: participants explore current developments and new approaches together, critically reflect on them and translate them into practical ideas for their own work. At the heart of the Forum is the question of how public administration can become more effective, collaborative and future-ready and what contribution young public servants can already make today.
Who is the Young Bureaucrats Forum for?
The Young Bureaucrats Forum is aimed at people under the age of 35 who work in the public sector, are preparing for a career in public administration or public institutions, or work closely with them.
This includes in particular:
- Employees from local, regional and national administrations
- Staff from public institutions and publicly owned organisations
- Trainees, apprentices and students with a connection to government and public administration
- Young professionals and emerging leaders working in digitalisation and transformation
- People from civil society and mission-driven organisations working closely with the public sector
The Forum brings together a wide range of professional and personal perspectives and creates opportunities for exchange across organisations and levels of government.
The Young Bureaucrats Forum 2026
The Young Bureaucrats Forum took place in Berlin on 10 June 2026.
Through interactive workshops and a Sustainability Hackathon, participants explored topics including climate adaptation and faster implementation, user-centred and agile ways of working, maintaining the capacity to act in polarised environments, and the responsible use of emerging technologies.
The workshops were organised in collaboration with the Project Management Institute (PMI), the Federal Ministry for Digital Transformation and Government Modernisation, Politics for Tomorrow / nextlearning e.V., and PD – Berater der öffentlichen Hand.
The focus was on exchanging experiences and working together on concrete challenges. Participants had the opportunity to try out different methods and approaches and consider how they could be applied in their own professional contexts.
The Forum was followed by a speaker reception, offering further opportunities to connect and continue conversations. Participants also received a complimentary ticket to the Creative Bureaucracy Festival the following day.
The Young Bureaucrats Forum 2027
The Young Bureaucrats Forum returns to Berlin on 2 June 2027 and will once again take place on the day before the Creative Bureaucracy Festival.
