Alena is the Global Lead for Data Programmes at the Chief Digital Office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). She designs and oversees initiatives on data governance for sustainable development, data-driven policymaking for the SDGs, and equitable data access for inclusive artificial intelligence. With UNDP operating in over 170 countries and territories, her work spans continents, advancing inclusive, ethical, and sustainable digital societies worldwide.
 

Beyond her role at UNDP, Alena is the co-founder of an NGO combating tech-facilitated gender-based violence, bringing a deep understanding of gender-specific challenges in the digital age.
 

She holds a Master’s in Economics and International Business from the Stockholm School of Economics and HEC Paris. Currently, she explores her interests in psychology, leadership, and social studies at the International Psychoanalytic University in Berlin. She is also a fellow at the Think Tank 30 of Club of Rome Germany and an alumna of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers community.
