Scaling Public Innovation: How Education Transformation Became a Catalyst for Digital Government
Indonesia's education transformation became more than a sectoral reform—it demonstrated how governments can deliver digital services at scale while sustaining adoption, trust, and impact.
The education sector has served as a proving ground for new approaches to government technology, from user-centered design and product-led delivery to cross-agency collaboration and large-scale implementation. The experience showed that successful digital transformation requires more than technology; it requires new capabilities, operating models, and ways of working across government.
As Indonesia advances its broader digital government agenda, many of the lessons learned from education are helping inspire and shape transformation efforts in other sectors, including the establishment of INA Digital and the development of Indonesia's national citizen portal. This session explores how sectoral transformation can serve as a catalyst for broader government innovation and lasting institutional change.
