Podcasting the Future of Government
The aim of this session is to explore podcasting as a tool for movement-building, connection and public sector imagination, helping government ideas travel as stories, conversations and moments people actually want to carry with them. In this 90-minute participatory workshop, a small group of participants will examine what makes podcasts engaging, human, useful, memorable and fun, and how those lessons can be applied to stories about public service, civic innovation and the future of the state. Using the MethodKit cards approach, participants will surface opinions, compare listening habits and identify the ingredients that make podcasts people return to: tone, structure, intimacy, surprise, usefulness and trust. The group will then translate those insights into practical principles for better government podcasting. The session will end with a short 5–10 minute recorded podcast-style reflection capturing the group’s main insights and provocations.
