Futures Served: A Collaborative Storytelling Game

Futures Served is a collaborative storytelling tool where participants “play” through future dilemmas to practice strategic thinking under uncertainty. Built from UNDP Brazil’s Signals Spotlight foresight research, and the "Futures of Brazil" report, the game explores four possible futures for food systems in the country. The session introduces the game’s origins and its role in supporting systems thinking, public imagination, and participatory dialogue. Participants then play a full round in small groups, navigating trade‑offs around governance, sustainability, community action, and equity. We close by reflecting on insights from play and discussing how the game can be adapted as a tool for engagement or collaborative policy design in different contexts.
