Better Decisions for Thriving Places: Deciding Together Across Systems to Deliver Public Value

This workshop is for public leaders where leadership is about taking responsibility for how decisions are shaped and carried together—who recognise that today’s challenges cannot be solved with yesterday’s decision-making. It introduces a relational, holistic, and systematic approach to collective decisions that deliver measurable economic, social, cultural, environmental, and governance outcomes across a suburb, city, etc.  Participants explore how to shift from transactional to relational leadership, from short-term wins to long-term public value, and from siloed planning to whole-of-place systems thinking. This is a 90-minute, highly interactive online workshop. It requires no pre-reading. Participants work in small breakout groups to assess real conditions, build shared understanding, and develop public value ideas. Participants bring one real system, place, or challenge they care about and reflect honestly on how decision habits shape outcomes.
