Tita Larasati was born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia. She studied industrial design in Bandung, Eindhoven, and Delft, with an interest on the subjects of sustainability, exploration of natural fibres, interdisciplinary research, design thinking, community development, creative city, and creative economy. After living for about 10 years in The Netherlands, she returned to Bandung to work as a lecturer/researcher at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), up to today. She co-founded Bandung Creative City Forum (BCCF) in 2008, a community hub that she currently chairs. In 2015 she co-founded Indonesia Creative Cities Network (ICCN) that has gathered creative communities and local leaders in more than 210 cities from all over Indonesia, currently holds the position of ICCN Deputy of Strategic Partnership. She chairs Bandung Creative Economy Committee, next to being Bandung focal point for UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN), an advisor for West Java Creative Economy & Innovation Committee, and a member of International Advisory Council for Creative Industries Policy and Evidence Centre (PEC) UK. She is active in The Indonesian Young Academy of Science (ALMI), and as a climate leader at The Climate Reality Project (TCRP) Indonesia. In her spare time, she creates and publishes her graphic diary.
