Caroline Paulick-Thiel

Caroline Paulick-Thiel is a strategic designer and public policy expert focused on transformative innovation in the public sector. As the director of *Politics for Tomorrow*, she advocates for the democratization of systems change processes and works with political and administrative institutions across Germany — from the local to the international level. In 2018, she initiated the *Academy of the Creative Bureaucracy Festival*, which has since contributed to practice-oriented research by showing how institutions can strengthen their systemic capabilities. Since 2020, Caroline has been involved in shaping Berlin’s Smart City strategy in collaboration with the Senate Chancellery and CityLAB, and since 2024, she has served on the advisory board of Berlin’s Sustainability Strategy. She advises decision-makers across policy domains on how to localize planetary transitions and convenes settings to build cross-sectoral alliances for 21st century politics.
