The Public Service Pulse: Where the Good Gets Done

Behind the scenes, public servants move mountains every day, often in ways that never make the headlines. This session is about spotting where the good gets done, and learning how to create more of it. Brought to you by Apolitical and Humans of Public Service, this session will be a circle stage fishbowl in two rounds. First, a pulse check focused on good stories: practical examples of what is working, where momentum is building and what made the difference. Then we will shift to progress: how we create more good, by unpacking the conditions that helped those stories happen and the small changes that make them repeatable across teams and systems—including how we moved around blockers and barriers to get stuff done. Come with stories of good (or even great!) work in mind and, more importantly, the lessons from that work that your peers can be inspired by and take action on. You will leave with a clearer sense of what ‘good’ looks like in practice right now, plus ideas you can take back.
