Roope Mokka is the founder of Demos Helsinki, a global think tank working on societal transformation. Over the past two decades, he has advised governments, cities, international organisations, companies and civil society actors, on various themes from economic renewal and housing affordability to climate transition and the future of care.
His recent work has focused on what he calls the “care transition”: a broader societal shift in which care is no longer a marginal social policy issue, but becomes a central organising function of society and the economy.
Roope’s work explores how societies can adapt to this transition in ways that strengthen both human wellbeing and institutional capacity. He is also the founder of Käänne Festival, a fast growing platform for transformative political initiatives, launched in 2024.
