A creative polymath, Lia Ghilardi has worked for more than twenty years with civic leaders, city networks, civic societies, housing developers and cultural organizations to provide creative and integrated solutions to the challenges of contemporary place making. She uses creative thinking techniques to help cities and government organisations to clarify their strategies and vision for the future. She works with interdisciplinary teams because she strongly believes that the complexity of today's urban environment requires multiple solutions from different socio-economic-cultural-urban spheres (the ‘wisdom of crowds’). An inspiring public speaker, she lectures regularly on creative thinking and urban DNA mapping methods in universities across Europe and in the UK. She is a member of the Academy of Urbanism, a network of influential thinkers, professionals and decision makers passionate about a better living for people in towns and cities, and also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
