Konrad has extensive experience in managing teams and delivering impactful projects in arts and culture, international exchange, and education. He studied cultural management and philosophy at Witten/Herdecke University in Germany and holds an MLitt in philosophy from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.

As a cultural manager, Konrad drives institutional change in non-profit organizations. As a curator for programs and events, his passion lies in politically relevant and transformative artistic and cultural practices.

Since April 2022, he has been heading the Goethe-Institut’s internal transformation initiative “Zukunft gestalten. Goethe 2025.” Before that, he was appointed country director for the Goethe-Institut in Beirut, Lebanon, from 2019 to 2022, and previously worked in Munich, Germany, and Glasgow, Scotland.

Konrad has in-depth knowledge of working in fragile and crisis contexts. He stands for an agile leadership approach and brings a personal passion for working in and with highly diverse teams to professional challenges.
