Katri Sarkia

Katri is the Managing Director of Demos Helsinki, an independent impact-driven think tank leading societal transformations. As CEO, Katri is accountable for Demos Helsinki’s strategic direction and its mission ‘only together, can we fight for a fair, sustainable and joyful next era’. Katri has long experience governance projects - leading and contributing to work on mission-oriented governance, public sector capability-building, and participatory approaches to reform, with a consistent emphasis on agency, accountability, and doing change together rather than alone.
Before Demos Helsinki, Katri worked as a public servant in several positions in the Finnish government and international organisations including UN Woman HQ and the British Council EU Office.
