Franziska Sauerbrey heads the Strategy Department at the Humboldt Forum Foundation.

After studying cultural studies, theatre studies, and business administration in Vienna, Paris, and Berlin, she worked at the Théâtre National de l’Odéon in Paris, with the Chelsea Group in New York, and for several German cultural institutions.

In 2007, she co-founded and led the ""büro für kulturelle angelegenheiten/office for cultural affairs"" in Berlin with Isabel Raabe. In 2015, they initiated the project ""RomArchive – Digital Archive of the Roma,"" which was funded by the German Federal Cultural Foundation and went online in 2019. RomArchive received the European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage (2019) and the Grimme Award (2020).

Franziska Sauerbrey is a member of the Cultural Policy Society and has taught at the Institute for Cultural Studies of Berlin’s Humboldt University.
