I was born in Montreal and lived elsewhere for most of my life. I recently retired from Global Affairs Canada (GAC) in search of a professional path to be more mobile and present in the lives of my two sons. As Principal of Learning Partner Edge, I’m an active collaborator with the Centre for Public Impact as well as accompanying clients from the business and not-for-profit sector.
I show up as a Learning Partner for systems change, a role and a contribution I’m still discovering. I’m particularly called to collaborate with those who embrace learning beyond training / “capacity-building” with a focus on action learning and complex-informed lens.
My journey has been convoluted, from experiences as diverse as the defense sector, international development, public service and facilitation (designed & facilitated interventions in more than 25 countries). I write fiction (e.g. “Dormons l’éveil sera brutal”) and nonfiction (e.g. Dialogic and Noncoercive Learning for Transformational Change: A Systems Approach - a Chapter in the Palgrave Handbook on Learning for Transformation).
My approach to design is agnostic, weaving design methodologies from Adult Education Models (Kolb), Human Learning Systems, Dialogic Organizational Development, Art of Hosting, Complex Adaptive Systems or Foresight among others. I pay attention to how rehearsed language can help to connect and disconnect one another.
