Ariane Bieou

Ariane Bieou is currently Head of project Millénaire Caen 2025, steering the creation and implementation of the Millenium’s celebrations of the City of Caen, Normandy (France). Time to time, she’s also consultant and expert for European Capital of Culture and international cultural events: everywhere the city is the new playground, artists are the mess-players, citizens are the protagonists, co-creation is the rule-process, future is the next level. Until 2020, she was the Cultural Manager of Matera European Capital of Culture (Italy), in charge of the capacity building development and the cultural program of Matera 2019. From 2011 to 2016, as project manager, she coordinated IN SITU, European Platform for artistic creation in public space, leaded by Lieux publics, European and National creation center in Marseille running several large-scale EU funded projects supporting artistic production, European residences, transnational programming as well as the development and evaluation of pilot actions promoting mobility. Beforehand, she worked for 12 years in Italy as associated architect and then in the management of cultural projects in the field of performing arts, designing, managing and coordinating art events in public spaces or in connection with (Unesco) heritage sites.
