Laura Sobral, an urbanist rooted in São Paulo's Right to the City movement, began her activist journey over a decade ago, focusing on the use of public spaces. Currently pursuing her PhD at universities in Lisbon and Vienna, she delves into the mobility of public policies for public-social cooperation. Laura authored "Doing it Together – cooperation tools for city co-governance," available in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. As a co-founder of The City Needs You Institute, she leads initiatives for the shared management of public spaces. Additionally, Laura co-founded A-GRUPA, an all-female Portuguese-Brazilian collective of urban professionals active in Europe, specializing in participatory methods, deep democracy, citizens-government cooperation, and community-led urban transformation. Moreover, Laura is a German Chancellor Fellow with the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
