For the first time, the Young Faces – Young Spaces Award, supported by the Hertie Foundation, will be presented to recognise a municipality for its creative involvement of young people at the Creative Bureaucracy Festival 2022. The municipality of Bleckede from Lower Saxony will be honoured as the very first recipient! We present the award during the Closing Session (18:00-18:45 CEST) of the Festival on our mainstage together with the annual Creative Bureaucracy Festival Award Ceremony.
The award is given to a creative collaboration that involves young people in the design of public space. It is made possible by support from the Hertie Foundation whose project “Youth Decides” sees local politicians delegate real decisions to 12-17-year-olds. Experience shows that both sides benefit immensely from the collaboration.
The idea for the award was born to honour pioneers and inspire imitators. The laudation will be held by the Federal Minister of Housing, Urban Development and Building, Klara Geywitz.
