From Friction to Function: Designing Conflict Resilient Public Spaces

In collaboration with BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt.

This workshop explores how data can reveal hidden tensions in public spaces where regulations clash with human needs. We'll start by hearing stories that capture everyday conflicts and dive into brand-new Technical University of Munich (TUM) research that visualizes these invisible patterns. You'll then work in teams to design intervention solutions for specific challenges using open data while centering marginalized voices, creating prototypes that address real issues.

The session ends with a festival-wide gallery where attendees can explore and vote on your proposals, building a collection of innovations ready for implementation.

This workshop takes place at Forum Rethinking Governance.
