Terrance Smith brings over a decade of experience in the public sector to his role as one of the inaugural Bloomberg Public Innovation Fellows at Johns Hopkins University. He currently serves as the Chief Innovation Officer for the City of Baltimore, focusing on Housing Vacancy Prevention and Public Safety Recruitment. Previously, Terrance led an innovation team in the City of Mobile, Alabama, which garnered local praise and national attention for its innovative approaches to improving residents' quality of life. Earlier in his career, he developed and scaled the prototype for Alabama’s first charter school. Bloomberg’s CityLab named Terrance one of 'Six Innovators to Watch,' and he was featured on the cover of Mobile Bay Magazine's Forty Under 40 issue. A Traeger Award recipient recognized as one of the nation’s top local government leaders, Terrance is also a research scholar, a published author, and a dedicated public innovation practitioner.

Terrance Smith bringt über ein Jahrzehnt Erfahrung im öffentlichen Sektor in seine Rolle als einer der ersten Bloomberg Public Innovation Fellows an der Johns Hopkins University ein. Derzeit ist er Chief Innovation Officer der Stadt Baltimore und konzentriert sich auf die Prävention von Wohnungsleerstand und die Rekrutierung im Bereich der öffentlichen Sicherheit.
