Digital Kick-Off Day
The first of our core activities of the year is the Digital Kick-Off Day on 13 March 2025, which offers a packed programme of inspiring examples of creative bureaucracy in action. It is a free online event for everyone across the globe with jury-selected sessions from our global Call for Participation – kicking off a new year of public sector innovation and offering an additional platform for forward-thinking ideas and projects prior to the live festival in Berlin.
In 2024 the Digital Kick-Off Day counted more than 2,200 livestream viewers, almost 500 workshop participants and 4,400 podcast episode listeners from 90 countries, as well as 6,500 votes cast to elect this year’s community voting winners!
Every year between October and December we are calling all creative bureaucrats and innovative changemakers to submit their projects to become part of the programme. The programme in 2025 will comprise two different categories including project showcases and digital workshops from our annual Call for Participation. INFORMATION ABOUT THE DIGITAL KICK-OFF DAY 2025
The Digital Kick-Off Day takes place on Thursday, 13 March 2025. The programme as well as the digital workshops run from early morning until late evening.
The Digital Kick-Off Day is a free event which will be streamed live on our website. The digital workshops will take place on various platforms organised by our partner hosts.
The programme showcases public sector innovations and various projects and initiatives that demonstrate effective bureaucracy hacking in action. The livestream is split into two parts: a German language half and an English language half. The German language programme focuses on projects from the DACH region and the English programme on projects from all other parts the world. Each half includes welcoming sessions, talks, interviews and the presenentation of the successful Call for Participation project showcases. Digital workshops will take place throughout the day in different time slots. Our programme schedule will be announced in February 2025.
The Digital Kick-Off Day is free of charge. The programme will be livestreamed on our website. All you need to do is register online and you will receive the link to our livestream via your registered email address one day before the event and again shortly before the event starts. Registration for the Digital Kick-Off Day will open in January 2025. Please note that the registration for the digital workshops will happen through individual platforms and links by our partner hosts.
Creative solutions in policy and bureaucracy go hand in hand. We need both if we want to build trusted and effective democratic institutions.
