The amount of data being created by public institutions, such as administrations and governments, is enormous. How can this data be captured, retained, and used for advancing the public good? Franziska Heine, Executive at Wikimedia Deutschland, believes there is a huge potential for partnerships between external institutions and governments to share expertise and best practices to best solve these problems. What needs to happen to make these partnerships thrive? Franziska addresses how openness, having deeper conversations, and better incentives could lead to a brighter future – a future where all of society benefits from responsible, equitable, and fruitful data and knowledge sharing between science, government, and civil society.
