Angela Jain

Dr. Angela Jain is senior project manager at the Bertelsmann Stiftung, Germany, in lead of the New Democracy project. A central activity is the 'Forum against Fakes', which aims at the participatory development of policy recommendations for dealing with disinformation. Angela Jain has long standing expertise in the field of citizen participation and deliberative democracy, both as researcher and practitioner. She is member of the international network Democracy Research & Development. Her thematic focus is on challenges of societal transformation such as digitalization or climate change. From 2021 to ‘23 she was deputy head of the digital transformation unit of the Senate Chancellery of Berlin. Prior to that, she was a member of the management board of the Berlin nexus Institute and senior researcher at Technische Universität Berlin (2004 - ‘21). Her academic background is in spatial planning, since 2004 she holds a PhD on sustainable mobility management from Humboldt University Berlin.
