Jakob Racek ist Leiter der Abteilung Information in der Zentrale des Goethe-Instituts in München. Von 2021 bis 2022 war er Leiter des Goethe-Instituts in Minsk, das aufgrund der Repressionen des belarussischen Regimes seine Tätigkeit einstellen musste. Er hat zuvor als Kurator und Kulturmanager für deutsche und internationale Museen und Institutionen gearbeitet, darunter die Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden und die Robert Bosch Stiftung.
