Why Community Is the Essential Capability Every Government Needs Right Now
In 2024, Apolitical asked 2,000 public servants from 60 countries: What skill do you most want to develop to help you in government right now? The answer was resoundingly clear - collaboration. It speaks to the demands governments are facing: to work faster, in new ways and with new tools to address increasingly complex challenges. Public servants are at the forefront of this work. They recognise that the most important capability they need to unlock progress elsewhere is the ability to connect with each other. Apolitical’s interactive panel discussion will bring together unique public servant voices to explore the power of community in government.
The discussion will take a wide-ranging look at how communities can contribute to making government more efficient, capable and innovative, while strengthening the connections between public servants. It will be moderated by Cori Zarek, Apolitical’s Vice President for North America and former Deputy Administrator for the US Digital Service.
