Harnessing Foresight for Future-Oriented Policymaking

As governments face increasing uncertainty and complexity, future-oriented policymaking is becoming an essential capability for public administrations. This session explores how strategic foresight can help governments anticipate change, strengthen resilience and embed long-term thinking into decision-making. Drawing on a joint initiative by the European Commission and the EU Policy Lab, the discussion will highlight practical tools, capacity-building approaches and new ways of integrating futures thinking into policymaking across Europe.
