Erdem Ovacik

Erdem is author of ""The Next Democracy: Reimagining How We Govern Ourselves Through The Power of Data and Markets"", a book coming out in June 2025. He is also cofounder of Impact Market, public service delivery platform for cities to engage mobility providers to change citizens' behaviour in a data-driven, iterative manner replacing traditional procurement process. Erdem cofounded Donkey Republic, a leading European bike sharing service, that is innovator in the industry with first app-based bike share, smart locks, virtual stations. Following 8 yrs as CEO, Erdem serves as a Board member at the company. He is also a board member at the Danish Ministry of Business’ Better Regulation Forum. Previously, Erdem worked with citizen engagement projects and helping public organisations innovate together with private sector via social impact bonds. Born and raised in Istanbul, he lives in Copenhagen. He has a Master in Public Policy from UC Berkeley.
