Frank Nägele is Permanent Secretary for Administrative and Infrastructure Management at the Berlin Senate Chancellery. After obtaining a degree in public administration at the University of Konstanz, he earned a doctorate in political science at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin with a dissertation on regional economic policy in Germany’s federal system of government. Before taking on his current position, he was a permanent secretary in the federal states of Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony. Prior to that, he coordinated the affairs of the new federal states as a division head at the Federal Chancellery, where he also had responsibility for new management strategies in public administration and was the deputy head of the “fiscal policy” group.
