Katja Lindroos (MA) is the CEO of Urban Practice, a Helsinki-based office working with urban change, and the co-founder of Nordic CityMaking Week. She advocates societal entrepreneurship in tackling challenges of sustainability and inclusivity in cities. Urban Practice designs models for cross-sectoral collaboration and produces among others Lähiöfest – festival of neighbourhoods and Kaupunkioppi – an education program for schools. Urban Practice is also the founder of the Creative Bureaucrats group in Finland.
Lindroos has a background in journalism, education and communications. She has been the editor-in-chief of several magazines and publications, written books and produced tv programs. Lindroos is a frequent lecturer at the Aalto University in Espoo, Finland.
Nordic CityMaking is a forum and a movement based in the Nordics connecting citymakers across countries, cities and communities initiated by Urban Practice in 2020.
