Changemaking in a megacity - building Mexico city's lab for experimentation and creativity

In conversation with Gabriella Gomez-Montt, Creative Bureaucracy Award Winner 2018

Gabriella Gomez Mont was an artist activist, a filmmaker and then unexpectedly was asked to create the Laboratorio para la Ciudad, perhaps the most emblematic living lab in the world. Here she discusses how she developed a truly multidisciplinary team with a diversity of talents from economists, political scientists, anthropologists, engineers, artists and more. The Laboratorio developed a range of extraordinary projects, such as creating a human rights focused constitution for Mexico City, they solved the Uber/taxi dilemma to the benefit of both, created a crowdsourced transport map of the 30,000 bus routes in the city and put together a strategic plan to help the 5 million children in the city have a better life.
