Reimagining Money: Finance for Social Good
“Money makes the world go round” they say, but can we be more imaginative in thinking through how finance mechanisms work to achieve better public purposes and impact? This requires re-assessing what and how we measure ‘value’ and ‘capital’ in a more holistic way and develop the mechanisms needed to build the novel infrastructures required for the 21st century. There is a task to show the world that changemaking, be it being more green or becoming resilient, can be viable if the conditions are right.
This session looks at the potentials of finance from two angles: how to shift the thinking and investment programming of mainstream institutions, and then how to galvanize and scale the power of socially concerned community in order to show what can be done.
