Education And Employment

Quality education and meaningful employment are two of the most powerful tools for lifting socially excluded individuals into society and for building bonds between citizens. In our new world of digital technologies, climate crises, and different social challenges to the past – What jobs and skills do we need? And what kind of education should we provide beyond the labour market? Creative Bureaucrats are asking such questions.

Social Employment: Building Communities That Work (Wed, 15 Sep, 15:00-15:30): ‘Social Employment’ is a new take on an old idea. It supports local organisations to create work for the common good, in support of community-driven development. How could social employment support community development in your context? And which ‘at-risk’ groups could you target?

Crisis as a Stress Test for the Digitalisation of School Education (Fri, 16 Sep, 11:00-11:30): The Corona pandemic has also revealed existing weaknesses in the area of digitalisation of school education and shown the need for optimisation. In this session, the users of the school system are interviewed and their impulses for the digitalisation of school education explored.

Municipal Learning Labs Enable Transformation: Field Report and Reflection on the Pilot Projects in Eltville and Eschwege (Fri, 17 Sep, 11:30-12:00): In the session, we present the Learning Lab concept and reflect on the findings of the first two pilot projects for innovative training in public service and for the further development of municipalities with the mayors of Eltville and Eschwege, as well as the Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.
