The Word Map: How to Sail With the Bureaucracy Wind
Paola Lopes, Ariane Bieou, Paolo Mele, Domenico Bruno
Paola Lopes works as a project manager in the Cultural and Creative Industries, her job and interest from the beginning of her professional career, since she graduated and has been involved in the sector for almost 20 years.
During her experiences she has developed specific skills in:
– co-creation processes;
– bottom up involvement and inclusion;
– local and european networking;
– project management;
– budget plan, report and control;
expressed and increased above all in the Matera 2019 – European Capital of Culture project, where she has worked as project manager. Today, she is one of the co-founder of the Word Map Team, active in the common development of innovative co-creations projects.
Ariane Bieou is currently Head of project Millénaire Caen 2025, steering the creation and implementation of the Millenium’s celebrations of the City of Caen, Normandy (France).
Time to time, she’s also consultant and expert for European Capital of Culture and international cultural events: everywhere the city is the new playground, artists are the mess-players, citizens are the protagonists, co-creation is the rule-process, future is the next level.
Until 2020, she was the Cultural Manager of Matera European Capital of Culture (Italy), in charge of the capacity building development and the cultural program of Matera 2019.
From 2011 to 2016, as project manager, she coordinated IN SITU, European Platform for artistic creation in public space, leaded by Lieux publics, European and National creation center in Marseille running several large-scale EU funded projects supporting artistic production, European residences, transnational programming as well as the development and evaluation of pilot actions promoting mobility.
Beforehand, she worked for 12 years in Italy as associated architect and then in the management of cultural projects in the field of performing arts, designing, managing and coordinating art events in public spaces or in connection with (Unesco) heritage sites.
Founder of Ramdom together with Luca Coclite, he is PhD in Communication & New Technologies at the IULM University of Milan and a visiting researcher at The New School of New York (USA), Paolo is cultural and digital project manager. He has worked with various international organizations, such as the World Bank, New Art Exchange, Veronesi Foundation, Chivasso Foundation.
He was project manager for the BJCEM Biennale of Young Artists from Mediterranean Europe from 2008 to 2012. In 2006, he founded and coordinated the Observatory for Communication Policies (OCP) at the University of Salento. He is currently one of the project managers of Matera Capital of Culture 2019. He is director of Kora – Arts center in Apulia region (Italy)
Domenico Bruno was born in Matera (Italy), he degreed in Political Economics from the University of Modena and a Master in Musical Communication from Cattolica University of Milan.
He started working in the Music Industry production department Company based in Milan, specialized in live music events and festivals where he held, over the years, a responsible role. After that, he decided to change his placement focusing his job on media, broadcasting and film industry and working as project or production manager in international projects. In the last years, he had the chance to join the Matera 2019 ECoC Team entering and acting actively in the most exciting change process his city was living. This work experience gave him the opportunity to explore the European arts Ecosystem and especially to implement knowledge about the culture and creative industry sector (CCI) from the inside.
With almost 20 years of work experience as a project and production manager, he assumed an increased level of responsibility through the application of a set of analytical, creative and critical thinking skills and developing communication and organizational expertise.
