SMART CITIES GOVERNANCE // MAKE IT EXPLICIT: DESIGNING GOVERNANCE WITH COMMUNITYRULE

Nathan Schneider

2021 English Organisational Culture & Governance Public Infrastructures & Space

As we add new flows of data, communication, and economy to our social lives, we need appropriate governance. CommunityRule is an experimental web app that provides an interface for drafting and editing simple rules. It comes with templates, now available as a booklet, with some basic rule-sets to start with. In this hands-on workshop, participants will use CommunityRule to make explicit some implicit rule-sets in their lives, and design new rules for the future. We will also explore other tools now under development with the Metagovernance Project, an organization working to build „a governance layer for the Internet.“
