Innovating 21st Century Indian Education with Arts

Shreyoshi Saha

2021 Education & Employment English

This session from ImmerseGo explores how India is envisioning the use of Culture and Arts as a means to impart education in the 21st century through its newly launched National Education Policy and Art Integrated Learning structures which have been made mandatory across all Indian CBSE schools.

With the new National Education Policy, Indian education leapfrogs from rote-based learning to experiential learning with a greater emphasis on holistic development for children up to age of 15 years, focusing on the most formative years for character development, life skill building and value centric learning using arts and Indian culture as the tool for learning and to deliver scholastic curriculum.

Shreyoshi Saha

Founder/ ImmerseGo

Shreyoshi is the founder of ImmerseGo, an experiential Art Integrated Learning (AIL) AI startup offering art based proprietary learning modules for age 5- 15 years to develop Life Skills, Values & Thematic Understanding namely on Gender & Inclusion, Sustainability, through a play based learning method.

With approximately fifteen years of experience in performing arts and over ten years of experience as an economist and management consultant working in the space of business strategy, policy formulation, impact assessment and end to end programme implementation for Government and private sector, she realized her skills need to solve the problems persisting in the form of lack of linkages between Indian education and art sectors and thereby contribute towards the UN SDGs.
