Audrey Tang discusses how she became who she is and from a very young age completely absorbed in coding that when she connected with global software networks people didn’t realize she was nearly a child rather than a professional peer. Her favourite bureaucrat was her teacher who gave Audrey a free rein to miss school in order to ‘code, code and code’. Swiftly via launching several start-ups, her civic tech background and the rest is history – she became Taiwan’s Digital Minister, but a different kind of ministry. No big staff just a few hand picked members from every department who act as digital champions within their domain.
