Antonia Zierer joined the Bavarian State Ministry for Digital Affairs as Director Policy Planning in 2019. Prior to that Antonia worked in various roles in public administration and at the intersection with business: as executive director of the representative office of the State of Bavaria in San Francisco she helped US tech companies enter the German market via Bavaria.
She worked previously as the deputy head of unit for economic policy in the Bavarian Prime Ministers’ office and as a policy advisor for foreign trade relations with Russia and Central Asia in the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs. She graduated from the University of Passau with degrees in Business Administration and Economics and studied abroad at the Moscow State University (GUU) in Russia.
Since fall 2020 she is also a founding member of Staat-Up e.V. bringing a start-up mindset to public administration. To achieve that goal Staat-Up is building (virtual) peer-group learning groups for public sector employees to share their experiences regarding challenges in transformation and leadership.
