Anja Tannhäuser ist seit Juli 2009 bei der PD – Berater der öffentlichen Hand GmbH verantwortlich für den Bereich Marketing und Kommunikation, seit Oktober 2022 als Mitglied der Geschäftsleitung. Zuvor war Anja Tannhäuser bei einer international agierenden Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft für die Beratungssparte im Marketingbereich tätig. Zuletzt arbeitete sie in einer Stabsfunktion für das Gesamtunternehmen im Bereich des Innovationsmanagements.

In this session, we will explore the benefit of in-house consulting for the public sector. What challenges are public sectors facing, and how can in-house institutions support to tackle these? We will take a closer look at the examples of Cyprus and Germany and learn about the concept of in-house from two perspectives.

Claus Wechselmann ist seit Dezember 2016 Geschäftsführer der PD – Berater der öffentlichen Hand GmbH und war bereits seit Februar 2014 Mitglied des Vorstands von Partnerschaften Deutschland. Zuvor war er von 2009 an als Direktor tätig. Er verantwortet den Bereich Strategische Verwaltungsmodernisierung. Vor seiner Tätigkeit bei der PD war Claus Wechselmann bei der Siemens AG und der IBM Deutschland tätig. In unterschiedlichen Management-Funktionen in Deutschland und einige Jahre im Ausland trug er Verantwortung für die Bereiche Beratung, Vertrieb und Geschäftsstrategie. Zuletzt verantwortete Claus Wechselmann bei IBM Deutschland als Manager die strategische Geschäftsentwicklung im Public Sector.
Irene Piki
Director of Tax Policy and EU Affairs / Ministry of Finance, Republic of Cyprus
In September 2019, Irene Piki took over as Head of the Strategy, Coordination and Communication Directorate at the Ministry of Finance in the Republic of Cyprus. In March 2021 she was promoted to the position of Financial Director and in October 2022 she became Director of the Directorate of Economic Policy and European Affairs. Irene was previously a member of the Board of Directors of Invest Cyprus (CIPA), the Research and Innovation Foundation, the Cyprus Organization for Standardization and the Cyprus Economy and Competitiveness Council. She has represented Cyprus in various EU Committees relating to economic and political cohesion issues.
George Panteli
President of the BoD of Mo.Re, and Permanent Secretary / Ministry of Finance, Republic of Cyprus
George Panteli is the first assigned President of the Board of Director of Mo.Re, which is the newly formed in-house consulting company for the Republic of Cyprus. He is the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance.
George studied Economics at the Queen Mary College of the University of London and holds Masters degree in Public Sector Management from the Cyprus International Institute of Management. He started his career at KPMG (Cyprus), following employment at the Ministry of Finance, firstly as Economic Officer and then as Director of the Economic Research and European Union Affairs Directorate. At European Union level, he is the Cyprus’ representative in the Economic and Financial Committee and the Eurogroup Working Group and the Eurogroup and ECOFIN meetings. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the European Stability Mechanism. At a national level, he is the President of the Board of the Cooperative Asset Management Company, a board member of the Natural Gas Public Entity, a board member of the State Hospital Organisation and a member of the Board of Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre. He is also the Head of the Economy Working Group established for negotiating the economic aspects of a settlement to the Cyprus issue.
