In Conversation with Audrey Tang, Taiwan’s Digital Minister
Unfortunately Kate Raworth is unable to join us today for a talk on ‚Doughnut Economics in Action‘, so we are replaying this brilliant conversation with Audrey Tang in case you missed it!
Audrey Tang discusses how she became who she is and from a very young age completely absorbed in coding that when she connected with global software networks people didn’t realize she was nearly a child rather than a professional peer. Her favourite bureaucrat was her teacher who gave Audrey a free rein to miss school in order to ‘code, code and code’. Swiftly via launching several start-ups, her civic tech background and the rest is history – she became Taiwan’s Digital Minister, but a different kind of ministry. No big staff just a few hand picked members from every department who act as digital champions within their domain.
